Install Procedure for logwatch¶

Requirements¶

• a installed and supported operating system (e.g. Fedora 29)
• root-access
• a fast internet connection

Preliminary Note¶

logwatch default setting with CentOS 6 was to send the report per mail as default. This seems to be changed.

Install¶

Install logwatch:

dnf install logwatch

Configure¶

override default output to stdout by

vim /etc/logwatch/conf/logwatch.conf

# Local configuration options go here (defaults are in /usr/share/logwatch/default.conf/logwatch.conf)
Output = mail
