Requirements¶

To setup autologon you will need the following:

• a installed and supported operating system (e.g. Windows 7)
• administrator rights

Preliminary Note¶

The autologon feature is used to start Windows with a predefined user and no need for any operator interaction, especially when the machine is run headless

Setup¶

• open shell cmd.exe via the start-menu

• start control userpasswords2

• uncheck user must enter a user name and password
• press apply
• select user to be used for autologon
• enter the password for the user being used for autologon twice

• close all windows by pressing OK
• close shell by typing exit

Check functionality¶

reboot the machine and check if the user is loged on automatically
